Charitable donation warms Gaodong; as summer ends and autumn arrives, warmth accompanies the journey.
On the morning of September 30, 2021, as the entire nation celebrated the 72nd anniversary of National Day, Zhao Yuanhong, Director-General for the Asia-Pacific Region of the UN consultative body Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education, and Deputy Director-General Ou Jing, along with a group of caring individuals, brought their "love" to the First Nursing Home of Gaodong Town in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. They were warmly welcomed by the nursing home director Xia Zhihong, Party branch secretary Yin Lifei, office director Lu Jirong, and Lu Yongming, General Branch Secretary of Jingsai Village in Gaodong Town.
On this occasion, the Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education donated a batch of health beverages worth 1.5 million yuan to the nursing home, in the hope of helping the elderly residents and care staff of the nursing home boost their own immunity at this critical juncture of the current epidemic prevention efforts, so as to face the severe epidemic situation together.
The First Nursing Home of Gaodong Town, formerly known as the "Gaodong Welfare Home," was a municipal government practical project of 2010 and was put into use in August 2011. The nursing home takes "showing filial piety on behalf of children across the land, and easing the worries of parents everywhere" as its mission, and "scientific, professional, and humanized" as its philosophy, creating modern "quality elderly care" services so that the elderly can fully enjoy their later years. This happens to coincide perfectly with the public welfare mission of the Pacific Rim Institute for Development and Education.
